Hello Gardeners
Well, my family and I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth but we’ve been very busy moving into a very small duplex where only one or two pieces of furniture have fit. We moved to Creekside Commons (have a look online), which is an intergenerational co-housing complex on nine acres with orchards for apples, pears, plums, quince , figs, etc., community gardens, a big wood workshop, a common house for occasional community meals and concerts.
The people here are friendly and welcoming and it’s a beautiful and quiet place to live.
It is located close to the ocean, has wonderful bike paths all over and only a 1/2 hour to the ski hill and, of course, we are close to our granddaughter and family.
The community garden here is quite different (and not as beautiful as HCG). There are only 10 personal gardens and the other 25 boxes are gardened by a group of 7 or 8 gardeners and distributed to the community. I am just helping out and not giving much advice…ha! That’s a bit difficult sometimes 😁
It looks like most of you had a good season of gardening and your dahlias sure looked beautiful on the website.
Have a relaxing winter and dream of Spring 😁
Wendy
